SOPRANO
Born in Toronto, the youngest of a tight-knit, first generation Italian family, Anne Morrone began singing with her church choir every Sunday. By age 8, Anne had regular solos and soon after became the church cantor. During her last year of highschool, Anne’s mom Connie took her to see Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly”, Anne knew immediately this was the career for her and soon found her feet grounded on many world stages. Anne completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Special Honours in Classical Voice from York University. Upon graduation, Anne came to the attention of legendary Baritone Louis Quilico, who took her under his accomplished wings. Soon after, she received a scholarship to The Boston Conservatory.
After receiving her Masters in Music in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory, Anne moved to New York to continue her career. The Arts were under much strain due to 911, Anne decided to move back to Toronto. In a very short time, Anne built up a loyal and sizable following, regularly selling out concerts in Toronto, Boston, Rome, Shanghai and Macau. Anne began productions of “Aria Couture” a fusion of fashion and opera. Soon after Anne began working with industry veteran Mark Lalama, music director of Canadian Idol as her arranger and producer. Anne recorded with the very famous and talented Gipsy Kings, rapper Belly, Tal Bachman and RyanDan.
Currently Anne is focusing on her Executive Coaching practice but still enjoys concertizing in and around the GTA. Anne teaches middle school music at Holy Name of Mary College School in Mississauga and continues to conduct various choirs.
